I highly recommend visiting SHA. Great location, relaxing atmosphere, good quality treatments and delicious food – who would have thought that macrobiotics is not all about brown rice and beans?! Shiatsu is a must during your stay; I was on cloud nine afterwards. My stay was definitely worth every penny.

I just got back from a short stay at SHA Wellness Clinic which I booked after reading some glowing reviews. I was looking to wind down and loose a few pounds before the Christmas season kicked in.
I was pleasantly surprised by the decor which was minimalist but warm and welcoming and there are also amazing gardens, waterfalls with chill-out music playing in the background. My room was bigger than I expected - I even had a walk-in wardrobe and a mini bar full of healthy drinks and snacks.
I was put on a macrobiotic diet after my first consultation and was amazed how effective it was after just a few days. Best of all, the ‘diet’ was actually delicious – lots of grains, sea–vegetables, fruits and beans - so I never felt hungry; in fact I felt more energetic than usual.
My days were filled with Yoga, Pilates and Tai-Chi classes, treatments like acupuncture, Shiatsu and massages. I had several personal consultations with the clinic’s experts and felt inspired to attend lectures about macrobiotics and healthy-ageing which came with handy cooking instructions. One of the best things I did was use the clinic’s flotarium and I enjoyed a daily walk after lunch in the nearby national park.
Some of the other guests were having quite sophisticated beauty treatments and one woman told me she had a DNA test to determine which foods have the best effects on her body.
I left SHA feeling truly re-energised and while I lost only a bit of weight while I was there, I learned so much about how to improve my diet. I’ve already lost a few more pounds since I got home by sticking to a few diet principles and I feel much better for it.
